Northern Thailand

8th January (or before) - depart UK etc.

9th January - pre tour day birding as required.

10th January – meet driver at hotel at 7.30 am and transfer to Baan Maka and meet guide ‘Games’. Visit local hides after lunch. Overnight 1 at BM.

11th January – birding Kaeng Krachan NP upper levels. Overnight 2 at BM.

12th January – full day around Laem Pak Bia and Pak Thale with boat trip (wet landing in shallow water with soft sand). Wader day. Overnight 3 at BM.

13th January  – birding Kaeng Krachan lower levels, followed by visit to local hide in the afternoon. Overnight 4 at BM.

14th January  – transfer to Bueng Boraphet Lake (last known sighting of White-eyed River Martin). Overnight at Bonito Chinos near BP.

15th January  – birding Bueng Boraphet. Transfer to Mae Wong. Overnight 1 at Mae Wong.

16th January  – birding Mae Wong upper levels. Overnight 2 at Mae Wong.

17th January  – birding Mae Wong upper levels and transfer/birding Mae Ping (if transfer is a.m.). Overnight at Ton Palm Resort.

18th January  – birding Mae Ping, with later transfer to Doi Inthanon. Overnight 1 at Kings Project.

19th January  – birding Doi Inthanon. Overnight 2 at Kings Project.

20th January  – birding Doi Inthanon. Transfer and birding at Fang paddyfields. Overnight 1 at Phumanee Hotel.

21st January  - birding Doi Lang west. Overnight 2 at Phumanee Hotel.

22nd January - birding Doi Lang east. Overnight 3 at Phumanee Hotel.

23rd January - ‘open day’ - either Ang Khang/Doi Lang/paddies (depends on army access restrictions at AK). Overnight 4 at Phumanee Hotel.

24th January - birding Fang Hot Springs and Doi Chiang Dao temple area before late morning transfer to Chaing Mai (CNX) for internal flights back to Bangkok (BKK).
